A Lancaster man charged with attempted first-degree murder waived his preliminary hearing today ( Wednesday ).
24-year-old Matthew Hermreck was bound over to Brown County District Court for arraignment on August 6th at 9 a.m.
Hermreck is also charged with aggravated endangerment of a child and aggravated burglary.
He is accused of brutally beating a Horton woman at her residence on the night of May 2nd.
The victim was hospitalized at the K-U Medical Center following the incident.
The victim’s three-year-old daughter also suffered injuries in the attack and was treated at the Horton Community Hospital.
Hermreck remains in the Brown County Jail on one million dollars bond.
