Horton Scouts Sale Sweetcorn Early
06/29/2012

Horton Boy Scouts, of Troop 112, are again gearing up for their annual sweet corn sale; however, prior to that date, a new, unique way to gain the corn, while supporting the scouts, is now underway.

Scoutmaster Doctor Steve Davies says, through an arrangement made with the Gigstad family, individuals are being allowed to personally pick the sweet corn on the Gigstad farm(Play Audio)

The personal corn picking can be done from sun up to sun down, Saturday through Friday.

Payments will collected on the honor system, with money to be placed in the shoe box located on the deck of the Gigstad home.

The annual, regular Boy Scout sweetcorn sale is planned for the morning of Saturday, July 7th, at Lentz Express in Horton.

Directions to the Gigstad Farm:

Take U.S. Highway 73 to Raccoon Road.  Turn south on Raccoon Road and go 3 miles south to a T in the road (318th Road) and then go east on 318th Raod for ½ a mile.

Turn south (right) in the drive, and you've arrived at the Gigstad Farm.

The sweetcorn patch is located on the east side of the big white house.
