The final numbers were not in as of Monday, but well over $20,000 was raised during this past weekend's barbecue cook-off and auction in Effingham.
The event served as a fundraiser for the Atchison County Rural Volunteer Fire Districts.

Taking first place overrall in the cook-off was Dan Wilson with Backwood's BBQ.
In the 10 and under division, Bailey Wilson finished first, and in the 11 through 15 category, Logan Kramer was the winner.
