KLZA - The Auburn City Council conducted a couple of public hearings regarding grants Monday night.
The first hearing was on a Nebraska Department of Economic Development Affordable Housing Grant application. Mayor Scott Kudrna explains what the quarter of a million dollars in grant funds could be used for. ( play audio :41 seconds )
The Council voted to move forward with the grant application.
A second public hearing was held concerning Community Development Block Grant, Economic Development Funds. ( play audio :28 seconds )
Auburn as well has other communities in the area have recently been determining if they would return the grant funds back, or continue to reuse the funds locally.
The Auburn Council voted to re-lend $17,000 to a local business. ( play audio :39 seconds )
The Auburn Council also approved an extension to a housing grant for Terry Fulton with TCB Contracting due to some delays on his project to build a home on an empty lot in Auburn.
