Dogs Causing Problems in Falls City
07/13/2012

KLZA - Dogs in Falls City in recent weeks seem to be highly agitated and aggressive.  Last week we reported about a delivery man attacked by a dog on Stone Street.  The dog had to be destroyed by Assistant Police Chief Duane Armbruster when the dog attempted to attack him when he responded to the call.
This past Sunday Officer James Wason responded to a call at 12th and McLean.  19 year old Ryan Helmick had been attacked by two dogs.  Once Officer Wason arrived one of the dogs became agitated and approached the officer, forcing him to fire his gun.  This dog was not harmed and both animals were picked up and put in the pound.
Rebecca Fouraker was issued a citation for dogs running at large, dangerous dogs and unlicensed dogs.
In June Shelly Eaton was cited for a dangerous dog and dog running at large following an incident with her dog and a bicycle rider in the 900 block of Reavis Street.  In this incident Sergeant James Baker used his taser to subdue the dog.
Wednesday morning just before 7 a-m a dog owned by Gary Sesna bit Kathy Coonce who was jogging in the 700 block of East 16th Street.  Two dogs were impounded by the Police Department.  Sesna was issued two citations for dogs running at large, one citation for a dangerous dog and seven citations for having unlicensed dogs.
Dogs licenses in Falls City run out in May of each year and must be renewed.
