(KNZA)--An investigation leads to the execution of a search warrant in Hiawatha, and that leads to two arrests on Friday.
According to Brown County Sheriff John Merchant, the raid happened at a residence at 518 Kansas in Hiawatha, where two residents, 18-year-old William Lockman and 20-year-old Samantha Lossen were taken into custody.
Lossen faces charges of distributing marijuana with intent to sell within one thousand feet of a school, while Lockman faces charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were taken to the Brown County Jail.
The Hiawatha Police Department provided assistance.
Meanwhile, in a separate investigation overseen by Hiawatha Police, a 26-year-old resident of the city was also arrested on charges related to the illegal plant.
Kenneth Williams was taken into custody Friday for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and no motor vehicle liability insurance.
The arrest followed a traffic stop involving Williams in the 200 block of Oregon Street.
