(KNZA)--Rodeo returns to Jackson County this week, with the event, hosted by the Jackson County Fair Association, serving as the kick-off to the upcoming Jackson County 4-H Fair.
Spokeswoman Deb Dillner says a strong turnout is the goal for the rodeo, happening both Friday and Saturday(Play Audio)
The Rodeo will include eleven big events: ranch-style bronc riding, team roping, bareback bronc riding, tie down calf roping, barrel racing, break-away roping, saddle-bronc riding, steer wrestling, and bull riding, along with mutton busting and mini bull riding for the children.
The rodeo will be held at the Northeast Kansas Heritage Complex which will, in the future, serve as the new fairgrounds in Jackson County(Play Audio)
The Northeast Kansas Heritage Complex is located 1 ½ miles south of Holton, on Highway 75, and ¼ of a mile west on 214 road. The rodeo-goers must use the south enttrance on 214 Road.
Gates will open at 6:00 both Friday and Saturday evenings, with the rodeo events starting at 8:00.
Cost is 6-dollars for adults, while children 5 and under are admitted free.
Meanwhile, the week long Jackson County 4-H fair will begin July 30th and run through August 3rd at the current Fair Grounds in Holton.
