(KAIR)--A juxtaposition of the modern age, with that of years past, is on display at the Atchison Riverfront, as the journeys of Lewis and Clark are brought to life by re-enactors, who arrived by boat, and are now showing off the means by which the explorers lived(Play Audio)
Ronk says the expedition meets with school children, as well as members of the public, in an attempt to educate(Play Audio)
That history is being brought to life through real life reenactments, highlighted at eight stations set up along the riverfront(Play Audio)
Ronk says, as those moments in history are viewed, visitors can also see the period-perfect boats on which the re-enactors arrived(Play Audio)
The demonstrations are on display today until 2:30.
Once the expedition departs from Atchison, they will visit 10 more communities en route to Saint Charles, Missouri, with their travels expected to wrap-up around October 2nd.
