Long Agenda for Falls City Council Monday
09/15/2012

(KTNC) - The Falls City, City Council, has a long agenda for its regular meeting Monday evening.  The council will meet at 7:00 p.m. Monday in Council Chambers.
Two public hearings are scheduled.  One is a hearing on a zoning change for the CGB Addition.  The proposal is to rezone 162 acres on the south edge of Falls City from agricultural to industrial.
The council is expected to take action to approve the rezoning request following the hearing.  The council is also scheduled to approve a request to annex the Towle Addition and the CGB Addition into Falls City.  All those actions follow recommendations from the Planning Commission.
The council will hold another hearing to set the property tax levy and the 2012-13 Falls City Budget.
Other business for the Falls City Council includes action on a bid for insurance coverage from Miller-Monroe-Farwell; action on the purchase of two trucks as recommended by the Board of Public Works; and voting on the final reading of an ordinance to expand the hours that alcohol can be sold on Sunday.
And the Main Street organization will present its report for the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2012 to the City Council Monday evening.
