(KNZA)--A contractor is selected for the expansion of the Saint Joseph, Missouri Second Harvest Community Food Bank.
The Board of Directors selected the low bid from Brooner Construction to renovate the current Second Harvest facility; and, when work is completed, it will be known as “Fresh Start.”
Work is expected to begin Monday, with Fresh Start to be part of the transition from Harvest House, the former pantry location.

During the renovation, planned for completion by December First, a drive-thru will be set up. Beginning Monday, Second Harvest food will be distributed from the East Annex, located to the right of the main Second Harvest building.
The Saint Joseph Avenue Entrance will be closed, with guests asked to enter from 10th Street and drive into the fenced-in area, where the annex is located.
Volunteers will provide menus consisting of different boxed meal options, with each containing a variety of food items.
Following selection, the volunteers will deliver the meals to the cars of the customers.
That process will continue until the project is completed.
Second Harvest serves 19 communities in Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri.
