( KNZA )-- A Fairview woman has pleaded “ not guilty” to charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated endangerment of a child.

36-year-old Tammy Thomas entered the pleas today ( Monday ) in Brown County District Court.

District Judge Jim Patton set a jury trial for December 3rd, which is expected to last 3-4 days.

Judge Patton re-appointed Attorney Bill O’Keefe of Seneca to represent Thomas.

Thomas is accused of attempting to kill her 7-year-old son in April.

Authorities allege Thomas poured gasoline on the bottom bunk of his bed while he slept in the top bunk early April 4th at her mother’s residence in Fairview where they were living.

The gasoline was not ignited and no one was injured.

Thomas remains in the Brown County Jail on $750,000 bond.
