09/24/2012

( KNZA )-- The mainframe computer system at the Brown County Courthouse will be updated.

County commissioners today ( Monday ) accepted a proposal from Manatron of Hays for a new system at a cost of $24,706.

County computer director Sandy Carter says the new system comes with a three-year warranty.

She said the price tag for the new system is less that what the county paid for the current AS400 system six years ago.

Carter said the new system will be installed the weekend of November 17th.
