( KMZA )--The Nemaha County (Ks ) Commission is being asked to reconsider a resolution recently adopted establishing setback requirements for wind turbines constructed in the county.
Curtis Holland, an attorney for Juwi Wind LLC, made the request Monday to commissioners.
The company is proposing to build a wind farm in the northeastern portion of Nemaha County.
At the request of a group of residents in the area, the commission recently adopted a resolution requiring that wind turbines be located three thousand feet from homes and 15-hundred feet from property lines.
Holland said Juwi Wind would like commissioners to sit down with them to establish more reasonable set back requirements that would still allow the wind farm project to more forward.
Following discussion, Holland said he will recommend to the company that they need to provide more information to the commission and mend relationships with landowners involved with the project before commissioners will consider amending the resolution establishing the setback requirements.
