Thanksgiving Comes To Those In Need
11/21/2012

The giving spirit was alive in Horton Wednesday.

It was there, in the parking lot of the Pony Express Bank that 8 local families, who have not sought assistance through any other local programs, were given Thanksgiving care packages, complete with frozen turkey, by volunteers from the non-profit “God’s Closet.”

Local residents, ranging from children to the elderly, arrived during the afternoon, happily receiving all that’s needed for a full Thanksgiving meal(Play Audio)

“God’s Closet” is a relatively new Horton based organization, primarily operating on Saturday’s, with distribution of food, clothing, even furniture and appliances(Play Audio)

“God’s Closet” accepts any variety of donations to then be redistributed during their Saturday hours.
