(KNZA)--An old wooden elevator, on the west edge of Saint Mary’s, caught fire this morning, sending firefighters from several surrounding communities to the scene to battle the blaze.
They worked to extinguish the flames, and to keep them from spreading to other structures also located on Highway 24.
Kansas First News reports that the structure was scheduled to be torn down.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries are reported.
