11/23/2012

(KLZA)  The Auburn City Council will meet in special session Monday evening at 7 o'clock at City Hall.
On the agenda is discussion on the future of law enforcement in Auburn.

Council members will consider contracting for law enforcement with the Nemaha County Sheriffs Department or hiring a new Chief of Police and maintaining the current 4-member department.

Chief Kris Baker resigned recently.

Preliminary numbers indicated the City of Auburn could save just over $120,000 for the next budget year by contracting for law enforcement coverage with the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department.
