Keith Carlin Resigns From Humboldt City Council

(KLZA)  There's a vacancy on the Humboldt City Council.

The council last week accepted the resignation of 1st Ward City Councilman Keith Carlin.  Carlin has served two years. 

City Clerk Connie Laflin said the City is now accepting applications from persons interested in fulfilling the unexpired term.  ( play audio  :15 seconds )

In other business the Humboldt Council met with Tim Creamer who discussed issues in his neighborhood.  ( play audio  :19 seconds )

On a 2-1 vote with Council member Crystal Dunekacke casting the nay vote, the Council approved a building permit for Eric Eden. Eden plans to construct a 100 foot by 45 foot building on Cherry Lane off of Highway 4. The project was recommended for approval by the Planning Commission.  Clerk Laflin said neighbors had raised concerns about the project. ( play audio :22 seconds )

Humboldt Council members also voted to approve a resolution declaring a property at 7th and Franklin owned by Steve Johansen of Rulo as an unsafe and dangerous property.  ( play audio :29 seconds )

The contract with PeopleService for water and waste water services in Humboldt was approved for another three year and the Council voted to renew the National Flood Insurance Program with FEMA in the amount of $414.
