October Unemployment Rates for Southeast Nebraska

(KLZA) Nebraska’s unemployment rate for October dipped to 3.8 percent, down from 3.9 percent in September and 4.4 percent a year earlier.
In extreme Southeast Nebraska the rates were mixed.  Richardson and Nemaha Counties had October unemployment rates of 4.5 percent which is down a tenth of a point in Richardson County and down two tenths in Nemaha County.
In Pawnee and Johnson counties the rate climbed 3 tenths to 2.8 percent in Pawnee County and 3.7 percent in Johnson County.  Gage County was up a tenth to 4.3 percent and Otoe County was steady at 3.6 percent.
Phil Baker with the Office of Labor Marketing Information says unseasonable weather has allowed construction companies to keep working well into fall.  ( play audio :17 seconds )
The national unemployment rate is 7-point-9 percent.
