911 Service Restored in Area NE Ks Counties

( KNZA )  A major phone outage affected landlines and cell phones throughout the northeast Kansas area Monday.

The outage was reported around 1:45 and kept 911 calls from going through to area law enforcement offices including those in Brown, Jackson, Jefferson and Pottawatomie Counties.

Phone service was restored early Tuesday morning and 911 service returned to normal.

No word yet on what caused the outage.
