(KLZA) A workshop aimed at helping farmers and ranchers plan for passing their farms and ranches to their families has been scheduled for Feb. 5.
The workshop is titled "Planning for the Future." It is scheduled to begin with registration at 9 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead in eastern Nebraska.

Topics include family dynamics; financial viability; the transfer process; estate, gift and inheritance taxes; probate, wills and trusts.
The workshop is free.
Registration and more information are available by calling the Rural Response Hotline at 800-464-0258 or contacting Keith Glewen, UNL Extension educator, at 402-624-8030.
