Planning For the Future Workshop Planned for February

 (KLZA)  A workshop aimed at helping farmers and ranchers plan for passing their farms and ranches to their families has been scheduled for Feb. 5.

 The workshop is titled "Planning for the Future." It is scheduled to begin with registration at 9 a.m. and run until 3:30 p.m. at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead in eastern Nebraska.

 Organizers say the workshop will include discussion of business, family and tax issues and the legal tools used to address those issues.

 Topics include family dynamics; financial viability; the transfer process; estate, gift and inheritance taxes; probate, wills and trusts.

 The workshop is free.
