( KNZA )-Efforts are underway to preserve a historic bridge in Doniphan County.
Representatives of the Doniphan County Heritage Commission and Doniphan County Historical Society met with County Commissioners Monday to discuss preservation of the Waddell “ A” Truss bridge that’s set to be replaced on Monument Road.
The bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
Commission Chairman Terry Horner requested the Heritage Commission compile a list of places the structure can be used in Doniphan County and present them to the commission at a future meeting.
Historical Society President Pete Duncan said he will speak with representatives of the city of Troy about moving the bridge to the Troy City Park.
