( KMZA )-Slick road conditions are blamed for a single-vehicle accident on K-99 Highway in Marshall County Wednesday morning that sent two Plattsmouth, Nebraska residents to the hospital.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 20-year-old Kyla Paczkowski was traveling south when she lost control of her car on the icy roadway.  The vehicle entered the east ditch and struck an embankment.

Paczkowski and a passenger, 25-year-old Jared Castillo, were transported to Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville with what the Patrol described as disabling injuries.

The Patrol says neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The accident was reported shortly after 11 o’clock about 7 miles north of Frankfort.
