Falls City Council Hears EDGE Quarterly Report

 (KLZA) The Falls City, City Council met Monday night.  During the evening the council approved on votes of 6-1, four requests to hold wedding receptions at Prichard Auditorium and to allow alcohol to be served during the receptions.  Councilperson Judy Murphy cast the nay votes and Third Ward Councilman Steve Scholl was absent from the meeting. 

EDGE Executive Director Beckie Cromer presented the 4th quarter report from the economic development group.  Cromer noted the Consolidated Grain and Barge construction got underway in the fourth quarter of the year and she said this project is providing business for other local companies. City Administrator Gary Jorn noted that meetings are being held with various department supervisors in the City.  Jorn said they are utilizing the meetings to help prepare for the future.  ( play audio  :40 seconds ) 

The Council also approved a number of resolutions and policies needed to continue to be able to qualify for various grants.

The final agenda item was approval to sell a parcel of land in the Appleoff Addition owned by the City.  Jason Campbell submitted the only bid for $201.  The bid was accepted.
