Crews work to upright, and repair, the downed power pole and line.

(KNZA)--A single vehicle rollover crash about two miles west of Holton Wednesday afternoon, knocked out power in areas of the Jackson County community, including businesses in the downtown square.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Marion Martin of Soldier was traveling west on K-16 when her Chevy Tahoe left the road, struck a power pole, and rolled shortly after 1 o'clock.

Martin was trapped inside the vehicle, requiring extrication by Holton Fire and Rescue.

She was transported to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Care in Topeka with disabling injuries.

A downed power line sparked a grass fire, which the Holton Fire Department extinguished.

Power was off in the Holton downtown area about 30 minutes, but left other affected areas without power well into the evening.
