(KNZA)--A request for a Governor's warrant, needed to extradite the duo accused in connection with the shooting death of a Mayetta man, has now been submitted to the office of Kansas Governor Sam Brownback.
Jackson County Attorney Shawna Miller says that was completed on Thursday.
At issue is the return from Iowa of Lloyd Wabaunsee and Desiree Shopteese.
The two 22-year-olds face Kansas charges of 2nd degree murder in connection with the January 10th death of Kevin Stanley, in Mayetta.
The two are refusing extradtion, and each will have hearings on the matter in Iowa, with Wabaunsee's court date set for February 18th while the one for Shopteese is scheduled for February 25th.
