02/14/2013

(KTNC) - The Pawnee City School Board discussed upgrades to the district facilities during its meeting Monday night.

It was a year ago that the Pawnee City School Board considered pursuing a bond issue to pay for the facility upgrades.  The board ultimately decided to not pursue the bond, and Grizzle says they’re now looking at what they can do without a bond.
Grizzle says they board also discussed security upgrades to the Fitness Building as they prepare to open the facility to the public.  That could happen yet this spring.  (play audio  :26)
The board approved a motion to install security cameras and a DVR system at the Fitness Building to enhance security, at a cost not to exceed $4,800.
In old business Monday night, the Pawnee City School Board approved a contract with Principal Don Jacobs for the 2013-14 school year.  The contract was approved as presented with a three-percent salary increase.
