(KAIR) -- A Saint Joseph man is recovering following a single vehicle accident on U-S 59 in Buchanan County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on 59, one and a half miles south of Saint Joseph.
A 2004 Chevrolet driven by 64-year-old Gary Sterling was southbound and traveled off the right side of the roadway to avoid striking another vehicle, struck an embankment and overturned one time, coming to rest on its top facing southeast.
Sterling was transported by ambulance to the Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph with moderate injuries.
The patrol says Sterling was wearing a seatbelt.
The accident was reported at 1:25 Thursday afternoon.
