The body of 69-year-old Barbara Bolen was found near Highway 136 near her residence two miles east of Auburn.  It’s believed that a vehicle struck her while she was going to her mailbox.
The Nemaha County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting the fatality shortly before 8:30 Wednesday evening.
Authorities believe the vehicle involved is silver or light gray in color, and is likely a semi-tractor.  The vehicle may have damage to the right front area around the fender and headlight.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Nemaha County Sheriff’s Office at 402-274-3139 or the Nebraska State Patrol at 402-471-0112.
