New City Clerk Selected For Horton
03/07/2013

(KNZA)--A new City Clerk for the City of Horton.

That follows a lengthy search launched after City Clerk/City Administrator Candy Schmitt announced in late December her intention to retire from her full time duties at the end of August.

Selected for the position is Kim Clausen, who only recently relocated to Horton from Nebraska.

Clausen, currently employed by Fairview-based Holthaus Autohaus, previously spent 15-years employed by a telecommunications company in Nebraska.

Clausen was hired on a vote of the Horton City Commission Wednesday evening following the conclusion of the latest of numerous special executive session meetings held as the Commission interviewed, and narrowed, the field of candidates.

Clausen will begin her role as Horton City Clerk on March 18th at a wage of $16.82 an hour, with the Commission to re-evaluate after 90 days.
