Sobriety Checkpoints Possible in Platte County
04/06/2013

(KAIR) -- The Platte County Sheriff’s Office may conduct sobriety checkpoints at various locations within Platte County during the month of April.

The checkpoints are aimed at reducing the number of intoxicated driver related crashes, which occur on their roadways.

The checkpoint will involve briefly stopping traffic for the purpose of checking for intoxicated drivers. Intoxicated drivers will be arrested.

Others will be allowed to proceed after a short delay.

Sheriff Mark Owen encourages citizens to report intoxicated drivers to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office by calling (816) 858-3521, or dialing 911.
