Update: Two Killed in Plane Crash Identified

( AP )-Two Manhattan, Kansas residents were killed in small plane crash near Tulsa, Oklahoma Sunday night.

An official at Kansas State University said today ( Monday ) that 40-year-old Chris Gruber, Director of Development for K-State's College of Veterinary Medicine, was one of the victims. Gruber had worked for the school for more than 8 years

The second victim was identified as 71-year-old Dr. Ronald Marshall, a retired longtime Manhattan physican.

Federal records show the plane was registered to Marshall out of DeWitt, Nebraska, where he owned land.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the single-engine aircraft departed Tulsa around 5:50 Sunday evening en route to Manhattan. The plane crashed inside the city limits of Collinsville, a suburb about 30 minutes northeast of Tulsa.

The plane reportedly crashed into a house neighbors say was vacant and caused a small fire. No one on the ground was injured.
