Cheryl Tevis is senior risk management editor of Successful Farming magazine at Meredith Corporation in Des Moines, Iowa. She joined the staff in 1979 as associate farm management editor. Prior to her employment there, she was an associate editor for Farm Wife News at Reiman Publications in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.


Cheryl grew up on a 320-acre grain and livestock farm near Sioux City, Iowa. She received a master of arts degree in journalism in 1975 from the University of Missouri. She has received the Voice of Agriculture Award from the American Corn Growers in 2002, the Milt Hakel Award for Agricultural
Communications from the National Farmers Union in 2001 and was named an Iowa Up and Comer by The Des Moines Register. She has received writing awards from the North American Agricultural Editors Association, and has been a finalist in the 1990 National Magazine Awards.
 

Cheryl is married to Stan Lingren, who farms near Pilot Mound, Iowa. They have two daughters, Allison and Alexa.
