(KTNC) - The Pawnee City Board of Education continued its discussion on potential facility improvements Wednesday night.
The board got a report from the Building and Grounds Committee and architect John Carlson about the latest ideas to improve the district buildings. Superintendent Stephen Grizzle explains. (play audio :32)
Grizzle says the Building and Grounds Committee has been working to prioritize the district’s needs and has come up with a scaled back project. (play audio :29)
Following a tour of the district facilities, Grizzle says the board authorized the Building and Grounds Committee to submit a site plan application to the Pawnee City Planning Commission. (play audio 32)
In other business Wednesday night, the Pawnee City School Board accepted resignations from two teachers who have accepted teaching positions elsewhere. (play audio :17)
The board also approved the recommendation from the Pawnee City Public School Foundation to offer up to 40 50-dollar dual credit scholarships to current Pawnee City students. Grizzle says that will allow students to take dual credit classes next year. (play audio :31)
The Foundation also will offer a $1,000 Ruth Marshall scholarship.
In old business, the Pawnee City School Board approved the use of depreciation funds to pay for a security system at the Fitness Building. The security system cost a little more than $5,600. The Pawnee City School District is preparing to open the Fitness Building for public use.
