(KAIR) -- An Atchison woman escaped serious injury in a two-vehicle accident in Andrew County, Missouri over the weekend.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident happened just after one on Sunday afternoon in the northbound lane of Business U.S. 71 highway, two miles north of Saint Joseph.
A 2004 Chrysler Sebring driven by 21-year-old Stephanie Wood of Atchison was attempting to make a left turn onto the crossover portion of the highway when the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2006 Acura MDX driven by 22-year-old Joshua Stepanski of Savannah, Missouri.
Wood was transported by private vehicle to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph with minor injuries.
Stepanski was not injured.
The patrol says both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
