( KAIR )-One of the suspects involved in April's drug bust at the Amelia Earhart Airport has pled guilty to possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Lance Thompson entered the plea Thursday in Atchison County District Court. In exchange for the plea, all other counts against him were dismissed.
Thompson waived his preliminary hearing and is scheduled to be sentenced on August 13th.
Thompson was an occupant in a plane containing 42 pounds of marijuana valued at more than a hundred thousand dollars that was scheduled to meet a vehicle at the Amelia Earhart Airport in April.
The drug deal was intercepted by Atchison Police.
Three other suspects have been charged in connection with the incident. One of those suspects, Daniel Brown, has pled guilty to possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. Meanwhile, a July 1st court appearance is scheduled for Michael Staab, and a July 16th preliminary hearing is scheduled for William Hiler.
