( KNZA )--The Prairie Hills USD 113 Board of Education has approved for publication a proposed 2013-2014 budget that calls for the property tax levy to remain about the same.
The proposed 19.2 million dollar budget approved for publication at Monday’s board meeting contains an estimated tax rate of 54.96 mills. The 2012-2013 mill levy was 54.27 mills.
Despite the loss of about $100,000 from their supplemental general budget, Superintendent Dr. Bill Orth says they were able to keep the mill levy at about the same rate as last school year by lowering the capital outlay along with bond and interest mill levies.
The board will consider adoption of the budget following a public hearing at their August 12th meeting.
In other business, Ed Reznicek was re-elected as board president and Brent Lortscher as vice-president for the 2013-2014 school year.
