( KMZA )--The Nemaha County Relay for Life will take place this weekend in Seneca.
Relay Chairwoman Myra Koch says the event will kick off at 5 o’clock Friday evening at the Nemaha Valley High School track, and run through 4:30 Saturday morning.
A free-will donation barbecue will begin at 5 o’clock Friday evening. Koch says the luminaries ceremony will take place at 9:30. She said there will be a silent auction and games throughout the night.
The theme of this year relay is “ Surfin’ for Hope”, and thirty teams have signed up to take part.
Koch says they have set a goal to raise $65,000 this year. Last year’s relay generated nearly $80,000.
All funds raised go to benefit the American Cancer Society.
