(KTNC) - Falls City’s end-of-summer celebration, the Cobblestone Festival, is one month away, and entries are being sought for the parade, which is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24.
Parade organizer Lori Gottula says individuals, organizations, and businesses can pre-register for the parade now. (play audio :32 “don’t want to.”)
In addition to parade entries, nominations are still being accepted for parade grand marshal. Lori says people can nominate deserving individuals, couples, or organizations to lead the parade by sending a letter highlighting the nominee’s contributions to Falls City. (play audio :25 “recognition also.”)
Nomination letters can be sent to Lori Gottula at gottula@sentco.net, or to 2703 Abbott Street, Falls City, 68355. The grand marshal will be selected on August 1st.
One change this year – in light of last year’s parade washout – Lori says that if it rains this year, they will not cancel the parade, but delay it by the hourt. (play audio :16 “in the day.”)
There is no charge to enter the parade, which will follow same route as previous years. The Cobblestone Festival begins August 23rd and continues through August 25th.
