Humboldt City Council Approves Ordinances; Reward Grows for Info on Restroom Vandalism
(KTNC) - The Humboldt City Council approved three ordinances Tuesday night, on the recommendation of City Attorney Vic Faesser.
One ordinance requires occupation taxes to be levied in accordance with state law requirements.
Another clarifies the definition of a police animal and makes it an offense to harass a police animal.
The third ordinance affects the Library. It requires the city’s governing body to approve certain Library Board actions.
Faesser recommended council approval of the ordinances, based on recent changes in state law.
In other action Tuesday night, the Humboldt City Council approved the third pay application to Eriksen Construction, in the amount of $174,060, for work on the city’s well project.
The council also approved a $1,000 Lot Clearance Support application.
The public restrooms on the east side of the City Park remain closed. The facilities have been vandalized on three different occasions since late May. A reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the vandalism has increased to $700.
