(KNZA)--Helicopter transport is required after a van struck a train on the west edge of Willis.
Brown County Sheriff John Merchant says it happened shortly before 3:00 Sunday afternoon in the vicinity of 3rd Street.
Merchant says the driver of the van, Marjorie Lay of Willis, was traveling north when her van struck a westbound Union Pacific train.
Lay was transported by private vehicle to the Horton Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A passenger, Richard Fox of Willis, was transported by ambulance to the Horton Hospital and then later flown to the K-U Medical Center in Kansas City.
Merchant says the crash remains under investigation.
