Falls City Council to Receive Report on Harlan Street Traffic Signals Monday Night

 (KLZA) -- A Nebraska Department or Roads representative will make a presentation to the Falls City, City Council Monday night concerning a study.  Based on information gathered the State would like to remove the traffic light at 12th and Harlan and one of the traffic signals at either 16th or 17th and Harlan Street.

The Council will be asked to approved an increase in fees and charges in the electrical, gas, sewer and water departments on second reading..

A discussion will be held on a public records request from David Leon Frederick; setting the Airport Authority tax levy and approving the 1-percent allowable growth rate for the 2013-14 fiscal year budget.

Other agenda items include changing the date of the first meeting in September to Tuesday, September 3rd;  automatic renewal of class C liquor licenses;  a request for no parking on the 300 block of West 23rd Street from Barada west to the alley;  a request to vacate Appleoff Avenue from 16th Street to 14th Street and to vacate 16th Street from Appleoff Street to Appleoff Avenue by Jason Campbell.

In addition there is a request to keep a part-time Street Department employee until fall projects are completed and the final agenda item is discussion on rescinding the Redevelopment Plan approved on July 27th.
