(KAIR)--A one day parking hassle will happen Tuesday for those heading to the Atchison Area Chamber of Commerce, the Visitors Center, the Atchison County Historical Society Museum and the Atchison Rail Museum.
That's because parking will be off limits in the lot of the Santa Fe Depot, which houses those entities, while the parking lot is re-marked.
Operations will proceed as usual during the work, but guests will need to find alternate parking. A press release from the Chamber of Commerce recommends using the lot along U.S. Highway 59, just across the pedestrian bridge from the Depot and across South 10th Street for short term parking and deliveries.
According to the Chamber, the new parking lot markings will better clarify where parking spaces are located in the lot while designating those off limits parking areas in order to allow more space for the trolley.
The work comes prior to the trolley's busy Haunted Atchison tour season.
