(KLZA) - Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, September 3rd, on a resurfacing project on Interstate 29 in Atchison County, Missouri.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a contract was awarded to Chester Bross Construction Company for nearly $4.2 million to make pavement repairs, mill and resurface nearly 9 miles of Interstate 29 from Route 111 near Langdon to Route W near Corning.
Motorists will begin seeing signs this week ahead of the pavement repair, which will begin after the Labor Day holiday. Once work begins, pavement repair crews will be working in two to four mile single-lane work zones beginning on the north end of the project and moving south. Crews will be working during daylight hours and some work could take place seven days a week. There will be an 18-foot width restriction through the work zone.
After pavement repairs are made, crews will mill and then resurface the roadway and shoulders. All work should be completed by the end of October.
All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT encourages all motorists to slow down, buckle up and drive safely through work zones to ensure everyone can Arrive Alive.
