(KTNC) - The Pawnee City Council approved the 2013-14 Fiscal Year Budget Monday night. The council received no public input during a hearing prior to the vote to approve the budget.
The council also set the final tax request. The property tax request was set at $104,585. The tax rate for Pawnee City was set at 49.76-cents per $100 of assessed valuation.
In other business during a relatively short meeting, the Pawnee City Council approved a recommendation to appoint Jo Vrtiska to fill a vacancy on the Library Board. Vrtiska takes the place of Don Jacobs, who had resigned his seat on the board.
The council also received an update on the status of two downtown buildings that had been considered nuisance properties. Councilman John Dahlgren said Jerry Graham is making good progress to fix up the buildings on G Street.
