(KLZA) -- There were significant dips in unemployment rates in extreme Southeast Nebraska for the month of August.
The best gains made in Nemaha County where the unemployment dropped two full percentage points from 7.6 percent in July to 5.6 percent in August.
Richardson County unemployment dipped 4 tenths to 5.2 percent. Pawnee County continues to have the best unemployment rate in the area at 3.1 percent. In Johnson County unemployment for the month dropped nearly a full percentage point to 4 percent.
Otoe County had a 3.8 percent rate and in Gage County unemployment for August was at 5.7 percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate for August was unchanged at 4.2 percent, well under the national average of 7.3 percent.
