(KNZA)--Two 18-year-olds remain in custody in the Doniphan County Jail on gun-related charges stemming from separate incidents in Highland earlier this month.
Dayvon Williams, of Kansas City, Missouri, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of unlawful discharging of a firearm. Williams is accused of firing a gun at 208 East Main Street. A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday.
Deondre Butler, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of endangering a child under the age of 18. Butler is accused of firing a weapon at 301 Kirkwood Street. A preliminary hearing was set for today ( Thursday).
The Kansas Chief reports both teens were arrested September 14th by Highland Police.
The newspaper also reports that a subsequent investigation by Highland Police led to the ticketing of three individuals for hosting minors and twenty-three others charged with minor in possession of an alcoholic beverage.
They are to appear in Highland Municipal Court October 21st.
