(KNZA)---A 23-year-old Mayetta man has pleaded no contest to a charge of intentional second-degree murder in the January shooting death of another Mayetta man.
Jackson County Attorney Shawnee Miller said Lloyd Wabaunsee entered the plea Friday in Jackson County District Court as part of a plea agreement.
Wabaunsee had originally pleaded not guilty to the charge in July and a jury trial had been set for November.
Miller says the plea agreement requires Wabaunsee to be sentenced to no less than 13 years in prison, followed by 36 months of parole. Sentencing is set for October 25th at 9 a.m.
Wabaunsee is among five people who were charged in connection with the shooting death of Kevin Stanley on January 10th at Stanley’s Mayetta residence.
