(KAIR)--The Atchison police department had a busy day Sunday, responding to two calls reporting domestic disturbance in the area. The first incident took place just after 6:00 Sunday morning on the 400 block of Atchison St. Atchison police chief Mike Wilson says that when officers arrived at the scene, there were signs of a struggle evident. The living room was in a state of disarray, and both subjects had torn clothing and physical marks on their body that suggested that a physical altercation had taken place between the two.
40 year old Joseph Leger and 52 year old McKinley White were both taken to the Atchison county jail and both are facing a charge of domestic battery.
In a separate case, police responded to another call of domestic disturbance around 2:16 later that same day on the 600 block of Park St. Wilson explains that various witness reported to them that the victim had allegedly been grabbed and pushed around through the a room in the residence.
38 year old Shannon Boffman was transported to the Atchison county jail and faces a charge of domestic battery. No bond has been set at this time.
Wilson further states that his department has responded to 32 calls for domestic disturbance in the past five weeks.
