(KTNC) - Falls City’s semi-annual cleanup is this week. There are several chances for residents to get rid of unwanted items in a safe manner.
Large items too big to be disposed of in the regular trash can be taken to the city parking lot near Prichard Auditorium, where Falls City Sanitation and Koelzer Salvage will accept items. They’ll take items from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday and from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Paper Tiger Shredding will be at the Falls City Library to shred personal documents from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
A Goodwill collection will also be at the Library, from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Goodwill now accepts used computer equipment, whether it’s working or not.
Also as part of the cleanup, the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department will collect old prescription medication from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the Courthouse parking lot at 18th and Harlan.
Falls City residents are also invited to place unwanted items curbside during the week with a “free” sign on them. Items not taken during the week should be taken to the collection site.
Anyone who needs help removing heavy items from basements or garages can call Bek and Son (402-245-7378) by Thursday to arrange to have the item moved, for a fee of $10 to $20 per appliance.
