(KAIR)--There are quite a few items for commissioners to discuss as the Atchison city commission prepare for their bi monthly meeting Monday evening. Assistant City Manager Becky Anderson says that the first item on the agenda is a special one, as the city will be presenting certificates of appreciation to several people in recognition of the loyalty and service to the city. Shirley Grove, in particular, will be recognized for her 40 years of service.
The commission also has a few ordinances they will address during the meeting, some of which concerns properties in the city.
Other items on the agenda include a presentation by the city park board, who will be proposing that the tennis courts at Reisner park.
The commission will also authorize the final trash cart purchase for the city, which will complete the city wide build out of these trash receptacles. Anderson says that when this is complete, everyone in the city will have the same standardized trash cart.
